Sites of interest and information of our destinations Cancun and Riviera Maya
Cancun and Riviera Maya are Caribbean destinations, so it's usually hot all year round, but basically the seasons are:
High season:
From March 27 to April 12 - Holy Week & Spring Break: It is the first school holiday period of each year and families go to the main tourist destinations, of course including Cancun and Riviera Maya. The weather is very pleasant, there is sun practically every day, it is very rare for it to rain.
From July 11 to August 16 - Summer Holidays:It could be considered the best season of the year, Mexican families and tourists from all over the world come in great numbers to enjoy and refresh themselves at the beaches. However, it is when the rainy season starts. This doesn't mean that it rains every day, but that there is more chance that during your vacation you get some rain, which is not bad either, it is also very refreshing.
From December 20 to January 6 - Christmas: It is also a good season to travel, spending Christmas will always be something special in a destination such as Cancun or the Riviera Maya especially if you travel with family, come honeymoon or with friends. The weather is very pleasant, and as it is winter, the "cold" can be up to 12 degrees Celsius at dawn, but in the day you can enjoy warm and pleasant temperatures, around 25-30 degrees Celsius.
The rest of the year we could say that it islow season and it is between the months of September to November when you will find very good deals to travel to Cancun or Riviera Maya, of course, as long as you book in advance.
The temperature is on average 25 degrees Celsius, during the summer it can reach up to 35 degrees and in winter it can go down to 13 degrees during the early hours. Being a beach destination and where most of the activities are outdoors, it is advisable to always bring a hat, fresh clothes and also anti-solar lotion or sunscreen. If you go on a nature tour, some insect repellent is recommended.
There are so many options in Cancun and Riviera Maya that it is really difficult to decide what to do, our suggestion is that you decide what type of vacation you want. With this in mind it is easier to choose activities. You want some adventure, ecotourism, cultural or just relax on the beach and indulge in a spa. Probably the mix of some, right? For all this and more you have Cancun and the Riviera, we recommend you look for information with time to plan your trip, and if you are one of the people who prefer to improvise and look for trips already in Cancun, then your best allies will be the concierge and the table of hospitality at the hotel.
Cancun has 20 kilometers of beaches, all located along Boulevard Kukulkan, the only avenue in the Hotel Zone of Cancun. If you are looking for a quiet beach either because you travel with children, elderly people or do not know how to swim, we recommend choosing a hotel from those located from km 3 to 8.5 of the hotel zone, since in this part the waves of the sea stick very softly on the beach, because they are in front of Isla Mujeres forming a natural bay known as Bahía de Isla Mujeres, which by the way is also an area for snorkeling and much visited diving.
Of course! We receive millions of people every year without any accidents. The local people are extremely friendly, all that is asked is that they have the same precautions as they do in their places of origin.
Throughout the Caribbean, there is a large amount of sargassum (a kind of seaweed) that began to reach the beaches. It was something atypical and fortunately it has been solved. That doesn't mean that sargassum ceases to exist, nor is it a bad thing because it is part of nature and is something you will always find on any beach.
